Polypipe’s above ground drainage solution plays a key role in the exciting new flagship development, Marina Gate.
Dubai Marina is soon to be home to the new flagship residential development, Marina Gate. Standing tall at the original gateway to Dubai Marina, this impressive project – which will house 1,200 luxury residential units – will be a stunning addition to the Marina’s already towering skyline.
As consultants of this high-profile project in one of Dubai’s most sought-after districts, Engineering Consortium Consulting Engineers wanted to ensure the common risks associated with the construction of super-high-rise buildings were eliminated. With an unrivalled reputation for supplying the region’s most prestigious high-rise developments, the consultants approached Polypipe to assist with a suitable solution for Marina Gate’s above ground drainage and ventilation.
Having provided similar solutions for some of the region’s most prominent projects, including Dubai Opera House and Bvglari Resort, Polypipe were approached to provide a bespoke above ground drainage and ventilation solution for the ambitious super-high-rise Marina development.
As experts in super-high-rise above ground drainage, Polypipe specified a turnkey solution that would cope with the project’s significant demands and eliminate the risks outlined by the consultant. This solution consisted of Terrain PVC-u solvent weld system, globally recognised for its robust joint integrity, and Terrain P.A.P.A®. and Terrain Pleura, which helps mitigate the risks commonly associated with super high-rise drainage systems such as bad odours, environmental and public health issues. As well as providing a highly effective solution for controlling the air movement within the drainage pipework system, the Terrain P.A.P.A®. and Terrain Pleura was also able to save considerable space and thus cost by reducing from a three-stack system to a two-stack solution. The installation of the Terrain P.A.P.A®. and Terrain Pleura systems used eliminated the need for a traditional piped secondary vent system, saving time and money.
