Take the UAE for example: roughly half of the country’s water supply comes from groundwater, but extraction and lack of replenishment has caused the water table to shrink significantly. Already, over half a billion cubic litres of groundwater is used to irrigate landscaping features across the UAE every year. As cities expand further into the desert, this figure is only set to increase.

Vertical expansion on the other hand, allows a greater number of people to live comfortably within a small area. By taking full advantage of existing green spaces and amenities, there is no need to extend the fight against the surrounding natural environment.

The complex architecture of high-rise and super-high-rise buildings however, requires specific, tailored water management solutions. Drainage systems must be engineered to cope with high peak demands of water and wastewater, both internally and externally, as well as the challenging pressure requirements. From residential towers and hotels, to office spaces and mixed-use developments – the taller the building, the higher the water pressure, and the greater the need for specially designed, durable water supply and plumbing systems.

This multi-layer, noise-reducing acoustic drainage system is quietly transforming multi-occupancy and high-rise building projects. The revolutionary soundproofed design provides increased fire retardancy, with a fire classification of B-s1, d0*, and anti-fouling protection to minimise encrustation.
